Break Free from the Past and Heal with God - Weekly Newsletter from Alexandra

The patterns we don't see are the one that stay...

Have you ever felt like you keep repeating the same patterns in your life, even though you’re trying so hard not to, Reader? That feeling of frustration—maybe even discouragement—can make you wonder if things will ever truly change. I know I’ve been there.

When I got married, I had only been a Christian for a little over a year. I came into the relationship carrying a lot of emotional baggage—baggage I was aware of but didn’t know how to heal from. I studied psychology and philosophy in college and spent hours with my sisters digging into our past and the “why” behind everything. But we were so emotionally close to the issues that our conversations weren’t truly healing. My heart needed something deeper—real healing I could feel in my body and soul.

When I moved to Los Angeles—literally the other side of the world from my sister!—God placed a woman in my life from church. She listened to all my fears around marriage and the weight of my past. Then she said something I’ll never forget:
“It seems to me like you will have a beautiful life.” (She was right—this is my husband and I in Coral Gables, Miami, celebrating our 18th anniversary... still smiling!).

Her words stuck with me. Despite everything I’d been through, she reminded me that transformation is possible in Christ—and that life can be beautiful, even after pain.

And Reader, I believe the same is true for you.
It seems to me like in Christ, you too will have a beautiful life.

But here’s the thing: in order to live that life, we have to recognize the patterns we’re stuck in. We need to explore the root of our bitterness, like Dr. G talks about in this week’s episode, and face the unresolved emotions we’ve buried. Without that awareness, we stay trapped—no matter how much we want to grow.

In this episode of Curious for Christ, Dr. Gary G. walks us through a powerful process to identify, isolate, and eliminate the root causes of emotional turmoil—and replace them with life-giving systems that lead to healing. Awareness is the first step toward freedom and living the life God designed for you.

I encourage you to listen, reflect on how past trauma might still be shaping your relationships, and join me in this journey toward healing and hope.

Thank you for walking with me, Reader. I pray this episode speaks to your heart and strengthens you.

With love and light,

Comparison steals the moment. Love restores it. Lately , it’s felt like a bit of a roller coaster emotionally. Some days, I think maybe I just need to go back to therapy. And honestly? That might be true. I’m always working on myself—but I’m also learning to let God meet me right where I am. Because nothing is too much for Him. He doesn’t flinch at our emotions, our struggles, or even our confusion. In fact, He’s always guiding us—through it, not around it.Psalm 139 brings so much comfort to...

Easter Special - Curious for Christ

This is why you and I are celebrating Easter… This Easter season, Reader, I’ve been sitting with a quiet question in my spirit:What’s the real story of my life—not just what’s happening, but what’s really true underneath it all?Lately, I’ve felt extra sensitive—longing to be seen, to be loved, to feel like I matter. Maybe you’ve been there too. I found myself caring too much about what others think, comparing myself, feeling like I wasn’t doing enough. Even in real estate—where I’ve been...

Learn to wait well with God... Hello my friend,Have you ever felt like the waiting would never end?Trusting God’s timing can be one of the hardest things we do as believers. It often feels like doors stay shut longer than they should, like promises are slow to unfold. Joseph in the Bible waited 13 years—thirteen years in prison for something he didn’t even do. He was accused, rejected, and forgotten… and yet, God had not forgotten him.I’ve had seasons like that too—times where the waiting...
