Do you have peace when life gets messy—or just more more doubts?

Can you find Peace in Chaos?

Have you ever walked into a room and wanted to turn right back around, Reader? That was me at a recent school event. I felt invisible, underdressed, and awkward. Everything in me wanted to retreat to my car—but I stayed.

Maybe for you, it’s not walking into a crowded room. Maybe your challenge looks different—doubts that keep circling, intrusive thoughts that steal your peace, or uncertainty about what tomorrow will hold.

No matter what form it takes, the feeling is the same and familiar: your heart is unsettled, your mind is racing, and peace feels far away.

Then you start wondering: Is God even here? Does He have any plans at all, or am I once more left alone?

But here’s the hope, Reader: God’s peace is not fragile. He is exposing those doubts for you to hold them and seek Him more deeply than ever. God’s peace doesn’t depend on your circumstances or your confidence—it comes from His presence. As Philippians 4:7 reminds us: “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

This week on the podcast, I’m sharing 5 simple prayers you can pray when life feels messy and overwhelming.

Finding Peace in Chaos: 5 Prayers to Anchor Your Heart in God’s Presence

Here’s a taste:

  1. Anchor me in You, not outcomes.
  2. Help me welcome the unknown as a place to grow.
  3. Give me courage to stay in the uncomfortable.
  4. Guard me from wandering when blessings come.
  5. Teach me faithfulness in small, unseen steps.

These aren’t long or fancy prayers—they’re simple anchors you can whisper when your heart feels shaky.

A Closing Prayer for You

Father,

Thank You that You are with me in the middle of the swirl. When my heart is restless, anchor me in Your presence. When I want to run, give me courage to stay. Teach me to welcome the unknown as a place where You walk with me and where I can find You. Guard me from drifting when blessings come, and help me be faithful in the small, unseen steps.

Fill me with Your peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7), and remind me that “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You” (Isaiah 26:3).

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Word of Encouragement

Reader, you don’t have to hide your doubts or feel discouraged. Peace doesn’t wait until everything in your life is perfect—it comes when we fix our eyes on Him. When your chest feels tight or your mind won’t stop racing, pause, breathe, and whisper one of these short prayers. You’ll be amazed at the calm, clarity, and strength waiting for you on the other side.

Remember: “The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.” (Psalm 29:11)

You’re not facing the swirl alone—I’m walking through it too, and God is right here with us.

With love and peace,
