Healing starts with awareness - Weekly Newsletter with Alexandra

Your emotions hold the key to your beliefs...

Can I ask you something, Reader?

When was the last time you let yourself feel—fully, without judgment?
When was the last time you brought awareness to your emotions, your thoughts, your pain… and simply let it be?

Recently, I made that choice. I chose not to fix, not to flee, but to stay present with myself—with God—in the middle of it all.

Mother’s Day was especially hard this year. The ache of loss showed up in unexpected ways, and God invited me into parts of my grief I hadn’t fully faced before. It was tender. It was painful. And strangely, Reader… it was freeing.

Because when I stopped running from what hurt, I found God already there.

We can’t surrender what we’re unwilling to feel.
We can’t invite God into places we won’t even enter ourselves.

This week’s podcast episode is about that exact journey—healing from addiction, codependency, and shame. I talk with Kathy Heinen, co-author of "Spiritual Discovery: Seven Principles for Spiritual Growth", about how our coping mechanisms often keep us from true intimacy with God… and how we can begin to break free.

If you’ve ever:
• Numbed out instead of leaning in
• Lost yourself in trying to keep everyone else happy
• Felt unworthy of love because of the mess you carry

…this episode is for you.

Because here’s what’s true:

You don’t have to earn God’s presence.
You don’t have to fix it all to be held.
Whatever pain you’re in, whatever pattern you’re stuck in—Jesus sees, Jesus knows, and Jesus still chooses you, Reader.

The invitation is simple and sacred:
Come as you are… and sit loved.

Let this Scripture wrap around your heart today:
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” —Psalm 34:18

With love and light,

When it feels like you're going in circles... Every step looks familiar...but you've changed. God is growing you in the spiral. Hi Reader, Lately, I’ve been noticing something strange at work. I recently started a new role on a new team, and yet… some of the work felt oddly familiar. Almost like I’d been here before. At first, it unsettled me, Reader. Was I stuck? Was I just repeating the same cycle again? But as I leaned in with God, I saw something deeper. I wasn’t repeating — I was being...

God is near—even when He feels silent. Hey Reader, Have you ever been in a season where God just feels… absent? I’m in a time like that right now. Life’s been full of risks, transitions, and new places I didn’t plan for. And while I’ve followed God for years, even now—He doesn’t always feel close. Growing up, I didn’t know God. And even now as a believer, it’s not always easy to stay grounded. I find myself crying out: “God, where are You?”“What’s the plan?” Sometimes I’m afraid I’ll bring...

Even in my fear and questions, God is teaching me that faith doesn't have to be flawless-it just have to be real... Not every prayer has an answer yet, but I'm still writing them down. This week’s podcast was all about walking by faith—not sight—especially when anxiety takes over. But here’s the truth behind the mic, : I didn’t record it from a mountaintop of clarity. I wrote it while staring at a whole lot of unknowns. In my heart. In my marriage. In conversations that are tender and honest...
