Facing Doubt and Fear—Can you trust?

When money becomes your identity...

Just like anything else in life Reader, when something other than God takes center stage—when our identity is wrapped up in money, success, or security—we begin to experience symptoms of imbalance: lack of peace, lack of love, lack of self-control. A sense of lack in general.

We were created to have a relationship with God, where He is at the center of it all. It’s in our DNA. When He isn’t, we feel it—whether through fear, worry, or striving for things that were never meant to define us.

It took me decades to understand where God truly fits in my life and how to shift my trust to Him. Growing up, I experienced deep losses and injustices. I struggled to reconcile my worth, especially as a woman. It often felt like I had to prove myself in a world that didn’t always see my value. But over time, I’ve realized that my worth has never been in question—at least, not in God’s eyes. And the same is true for you, Reader.

This week’s podcast episode is all about trusting God with your finances. Money can be a source of deep anxiety for many people. Some have panic attacks. Others feel their entire world crumble when financial hardship strikes. Why? Because their identity is tied to what they have rather than who they are in God. But when we understand God’s character—His faithfulness, His provision, His unwavering love—we can begin to trust Him in this area, too.

And that’s what truly draws me closer to God. It’s not just about what He gives me—more money, more peace, more opportunities. It’s about who He is. ❤️

So I invite you to listen to this week’s episode on overcoming anxiety over money and finding security in Christ. And if you’re looking for more on embracing the way of Jesus, check out my conversation with Robert Carrillo from a few weeks ago—it’s a powerful reminder of what it means to live out our faith.
