I Was Too Sensitive! But Is God Speaking Through Our Body?

Your body is a sacred vessel, healing begins from within, and God is renewing you...

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a season of reflection, repentance, and renewal. But in truth, any time is an opportunity to turn back to our Creator, Reader. Lent isn’t just about giving something up—it’s about making space for God to restore us.

When I was a teenager, I noticed how loudly my body spoke. The quickening pulse of stress. The hollow ache of loneliness. The deep exhale of relief when something felt right. I felt everything—deeply, acutely. And at times, it was overwhelming. I didn’t know what was normal.

Without a mother to guide me, I longed for someone to interpret what I felt. But God, in His kindness, became my teacher.

He speaks through the body, Reader. The deep need for rest. The ache of hunger. The warmth of a hug. The weight of grief in the chest. The way joy rises, light and unburdened. God designed us as whole beings—mind, body, and spirit—each part connected, each part needing His renewal.

Paul reminds us:

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.”

— 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

But what does it mean to honor God with our bodies?

It’s more than avoiding harm—it’s about caring for what He has given, listening when something feels off, and recognizing that healing is holy work. Our past wounds don’t just live in our minds—they settle in our bodies, too. But just as winter gives way to spring, brokenness gives way to bloom—so do we.

This week on Curious for Christ, I’ll be exploring:

  • How God uses our bodies to reveal His purpose and healing
  • Why honoring our physical selves is a form of worship
  • The connection between past pain, physical renewal, and God’s care

Tune in to Episode 86 for more:

This week, tune into your body, Reader. Notice the ways God is working in you, renewing you, just as He renews the world around us. The slow healing of a wound. The way your breath steadies in peace. The warmth of the sun after a cold season.

So what is your body telling you right now, Reader? In other words, how are you feeling? Truly, I'd love to know. Reply to this email with your answer. Listening to our bodies is the first step toward healing and renewal, and God speaks to us through it.

Besides, this, too, is worship.

Until next time,
