Still anxious, still exhausted... but following Jesus?

This is why I still show up, even when I don't feel like it...

Every year, Reader, our church goes on a camping trip.

When my children were little, it was magical—kids running wild with joy, families cooking together, worship under the stars. But as the years passed and I began building a business, something changed in me. I started to grow. And to be honest, I started to notice that not everyone around me was growing the same way.

And slowly, almost without realizing it… the desire to go faded.

Maybe you’ve felt it too, Reader. That quiet grumbling in your spirit.

“Is this really helping me?”

“Is this worth the effort?”

And yet—every year—we go.

Not because it’s always easy.

Not because it makes sense.

But because Jesus is Lord of my life.

And when I said yes to Him, I made a commitment—not just to Him, but to His people.

It’s the same with church.

Some Sundays, I feel anxious just trying to get the family out the door. But we go. Because I’ve learned: when I deny myself, God shows up.

And He is always faithful.

“If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot disown Himself.” – 2 Timothy 2:13

This week, Reader, on the Curious for Christ podcast, I’m sharing why church is more than a good idea—it’s God’s idea.

A sacred rhythm designed to place the lonely in families, to combat anxiety, to share our gifts with others and to grow the fruit of the Spirit in our lives.

Because the truth is, when we stop meeting together, something starts to shift. Not just in our schedule—but in our soul.

Doubt creeps in.

Truth gets blurry.

And before long, we start believing subtle lies… just like the serpent told Eve:

“Surely God didn't say…”

But the early church didn’t treat gathering as optional.

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer.” – Acts 2:42

That’s the Church God designed.

And it’s not extreme Christianity—it’s the only kind there is.

If you’re feeling distant from God, anxious, or just stuck—I invite you to listen in.

This episode will both encourage and challenge you. And I created a one-page devotional you can download to help you discern what kind of church God is leading you to commit to.

God is not slow in keeping His promises—He is patient, waiting for us to turn back to Him… with trust and obedience.

P.S. I’d love to hear from you, Reader.

Let me leave you with this question from the devotional.

What comes to mind when you think of the word “Church”?

I’m genuinely curious—and I’d love to hear your answer. Just hit reply and share what’s on your heart.

And after you read the devotional… has your definition changed?

I’d love to know what God reveals to you through it.

Thanks for reading and walking this journey with me.

With love,

When Culture Creeps In: Return to the Joy of your Salvation... You were never meant to be shaped by the world. You were made to walk in freedom with Christ Everywhere I look, Reader—on social media, in books, in coaching spaces—I hear powerful messages about finding freedom: “Rewire your brain.” “Celebrate small wins.” “Confidence comes through clarity and cash flow.” Honestly? Some of these messages have helped me... to some extent. I’ve learned from neuroscience. I’ve gained practical tools...

When it feels like you're going in circles... Every step looks familiar...but you've changed. God is growing you in the spiral. Hi Reader, Lately, I’ve been noticing something strange at work. I recently started a new role on a new team, and yet… some of the work felt oddly familiar. Almost like I’d been here before. At first, it unsettled me, Reader. Was I stuck? Was I just repeating the same cycle again? But as I leaned in with God, I saw something deeper. I wasn’t repeating — I was being...

God is near—even when He feels silent. Hey Reader, Have you ever been in a season where God just feels… absent? I’m in a time like that right now. Life’s been full of risks, transitions, and new places I didn’t plan for. And while I’ve followed God for years, even now—He doesn’t always feel close. Growing up, I didn’t know God. And even now as a believer, it’s not always easy to stay grounded. I find myself crying out: “God, where are You?”“What’s the plan?” Sometimes I’m afraid I’ll bring...
