When you feel unqualified, remember this!

Strength for the Unknown comes from God's Promise, Word and Presence...

This week on Curious for Christ, Reader, we’re diving into Joshua 1:1–9, where God tells Joshua, “Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Joshua is stepping into enormous responsibility, facing unknown challenges, and probably wondering if he’s up for it. But God doesn’t give him a step-by-step plan—He gives him three anchors:

  1. His Promise – “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
  2. His Word – Meditate on truth day and night.
  3. His Presence – Courage isn’t the absence of fear; it’s knowing He is with you.

Spoiler alert: These anchors were enough. Joshua succeeded—not perfectly, but faithfully. And that’s such an important reminder for me, and for you, Reader: I’ve been there too—trying to figure it all out, wanting a clear plan, feeling like I should have it all together. But I’m learning, step by step, that my confidence doesn’t come from outcomes, timelines, or knowing the full plan. It comes from obedience and trusting that God is enough.

Sometimes we want a full plan, clear certainty, and visible results. I’ve tried pushing forward, over-planning, comparing myself to what the world says “success” should look like—but those approaches only leave me burnt out and discouraged. Real growth comes from anchoring ourselves in God’s promises, His Word, and His presence—even when the path is uncertain.

So I want to ask you, Reader—if you’re feeling weary, uncertain, or unqualified today:

What is that step God is calling you to take right now? What promise of His are you holding onto that you need to step into, trusting Him fully?

Like a child, we can rest in Him, knowing He has already gone before us, and that His promises are true. And just as He brought Joshua faithfully into the Promised Land, He will bring you home from your place of worry, doubt, or fear.

If you’re stepping into something new, intimidating, or uncertain, this episode is for you, Reader.

Reader, I trust in the One who loves you deeply to fulfill His promises in your life. Just like Joshua could say at the end of his journey,

“Not one of all the good promises the LORD your God gave you has failed; every one has been fulfilled.” (Joshua 23:14)

Psalm 113:3 Lately, I’ve been sitting with a lot, Reader — questions, emotions, and thoughts I didn’t expect. There were days when I felt like if this one thing doesn’t work out — it’s over. That if a deal doesn’t come through, or if breakthrough doesn’t happen soon, then maybe there’s no real hope left. I’ve had moments where I finally...

Your heritage may shape you, but God's love defines you... Where you come from matters, but it's the light above that defines you... This week, I want to share something very personal — a simple Ancestry.com update that led to a much deeper conversation with God about identity and worth. When my husband mentioned, “You have a new DNA match,” I brushed it off. I thought, I already know who I am. Half Belgian, half Bulgarian. I grew up in Europe. I have an accent — that’s me. Then I clicked...

The wrestle is real but it is not wasted... Romans 12:2 "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind". Have you ever been amazed by the butterfly, Reader? When it struggles to push out of the chrysalis, it looks painful. But scientists tell us that wrestle is what forces blood into the wings so it can fly. If you cut the butterfly out early, it wouldn’t make it. That’s how I’m making sense of my own life right now. And perhaps the same goes for...
