Do you Trust God?

Trusting God isn't about trying harder...

As we close out 2024, I find myself reflecting on the struggles and dreams we all carry. Whether it’s anxiety, unfulfilled goals, or the pressure to “be further along” in life, these burdens can weigh heavily on our hearts.

My Sophia (you as an avatar) is full of wisdom and has her own dreams—to move, to get married, to step into her value, her next big goal, leadership. But the waiting can feel overwhelming, especially the doubts that creep in during the waiting…

I’ve felt this too, questioning why things haven’t turned out the way I imagined despite all my efforts.

Can you relate, Reader? Maybe you’ve set goals, worked hard, and still feel like you’re not where you hoped to be. It’s frustrating, isn’t it? But here’s what I’m learning: Trusting God isn’t about trying harder. It’s about surrendering to His plans and finding peace in His presence.

This week on the Curious for Christ podcast, we explore how a digital detox, a biblical Sabbath, and embracing creativity can reset our souls and help us reconnect with God so we can experience peace in all seasons.

When I’m anxious, I lose sight of how God has already provided. I start relying on my own strength, striving to fix things, instead of resting in His grace. But when I pause—when I truly rest—I can hear His voice more clearly. I’m reminded that I don’t need to have it all figured out because He is guiding me, even through the twists and turns.

Here’s what I’ve discovered:
A Digital Detox quiets the noise and helps us focus on what really matters. It’s also a gift to our nervous system!
A Biblical Sabbath reminds us that we belong to God—not to our work, our achievements, or our worries. It invites God into our lives to heal us at our core.
Creativity allows us to see life’s detours not as dead ends but as part of God’s beautiful plan. It helps us get unstuck and start living with fresh eyes.

Letting God Lead

I’ve been married for 18 years, and there are days I think, “I should love my husband better by now.” Or, “I should be further ahead in my business, my relationships, my parenting.” But God is teaching me that we all have different paths. My role is not to fix everything or control others’ journeys but to trust Him with my own.

When I surrender, something amazing happens, Reader. Anxiety fades, and creativity emerges. I stop seeing life’s twists and turns as obstacles and start seeing them as opportunities to trust God. His plans are greater than I can imagine, and when I embrace His way with a peaceful, flexible heart, I find healing—not just for me but in my interactions with others too.

An Invitation for 2025

As we enter a new year, I invite you to consider doing things differently. What if, instead of trying harder, you leaned into God’s grace? What if you trusted Him to lead you on a path that’s firm and unshakable—the foundation your soul longs for?

Listen to this week’s episode, and let’s explore together how rest, renewal, and creativity can transform the way we approach our lives in 2025.

Your body is a sacred vessel, healing begins from within, and God is renewing you... Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a season of reflection, repentance, and renewal. But in truth, any time is an opportunity to turn back to our Creator, Reader. Lent isn’t just about giving something up—it’s about making space for God to restore us. When I was a teenager, I noticed how loudly my body spoke. The quickening pulse of stress. The hollow ache of loneliness. The deep exhale of relief when...

We live in such a time as this... In today's world, it’s easy to let our time, focus, and energy slip away—like the world is conspiring to steal them. Every notification, every swipe, and every distraction seems designed to keep us from what truly matters. And when we’re not intentional, it doesn’t just take away our productivity—it can slowly erode our relationship with God, too, Reader. But here’s the truth: if we’re not ahead of the game, it’ll continue to rob us. I’ve been rethinking how I...

When money becomes your identity... Just like anything else in life Reader, when something other than God takes center stage—when our identity is wrapped up in money, success, or security—we begin to experience symptoms of imbalance: lack of peace, lack of love, lack of self-control. A sense of lack in general. We were created to have a relationship with God, where He is at the center of it all. It’s in our DNA. When He isn’t, we feel it—whether through fear, worry, or striving for things that...
