It's all about the heart - Weekly newsletter from Alexandra

God cares most about our heart—here's why?

Reader, I’ve been chasing change in all the usual ways—maybe you have too?

Trying harder. Learning more. Buying courses. Doing “the work.”

And don’t get me wrong—I love learning. I believe God gave me this hunger to grow, to understand, to go deeper. It’s one of the ways I worship Him. But lately, I’ve had to face a hard truth:

Lasting change doesn’t come from effort alone. It starts in the heart.

What matters most isn’t the work we do, the relationships we build, or even the calling we fulfill. It’s whether our heart is growing in Christ, Reader. Whether we are allowing God to do the quiet, deep, often uncomfortable work of transformation—through His Word, through pain, through surrender.

I was reminded of this recently at a church conference in Orlando. It was beautiful to be together again—churches from across Florida gathering after the long break that COVID caused. There was joy and connection… but also reflection. And if I’m honest, questions. Why so much pain? Why does God allow it—or even lead us through it?

Then I remembered: Jesus.

His path led to the cross.

And if I want to be like Him, if I say I trust Him, then I can’t run from that road. And neither can you, Reader. He died so that we could live—not just survive, but be changed. He resurrected. And if we resist the “dying” part of transformation—letting go, facing pain, releasing my grip on comfort—we miss the miracle of true life on the other side.

It’s easy to look at coaches and influencers and crave the version of freedom they seem to have. But Jesus offers a different kind of freedom. A deeper one. One that doesn’t depend on circumstances or applause. It starts with the soil of the heart.

That’s what this week’s podcast is about.

Title: Let God Heal and Prepare Your Heart Through His Word—for Lasting Change

It’s not just another “Bible study episode.” It’s a real conversation about why a transformed heart matters more than anything we try to achieve, and how God’s Word does the healing and preparing—if we let it.

Proverbs 4:23 says,

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

That’s not poetic metaphor. It’s truth, Reader. Your heart—transformed by Him—is what makes the difference in every area of life.

Reader, if you’re exhausted from trying, but not really changing…

If you’re on the fence with trusting God completely…

If you’ve been running from pain instead of leaning into it with Him…

This is for you.

Listen to this week’s episode. And if you missed last week’s, it pairs perfectly with it.

Also—don’t walk this journey alone.

Join our Curious for Christ Facebook group, where we talk honestly about faith, life, and healing. And if you don’t have a church community yet, I encourage you to find one. It might stretch you, even hurt sometimes—but it’s where lasting growth happens.

Cheering you on as He changes you from the inside out,
With love,
