Why Is It So Hard to Trust God Over and Over Again?

When Anxiety Keeps you Spinning, Reset so You can Trust God Again...

Lately Reader, I’ve been feeling weary—especially in my marriage.

It’s like our old, default patterns surfaced all at once.

He longs for admiration and encouragement.

I long for safety and peace.

But instead of seeing what he is, I kept zeroing in on what he wasn’t.

And I realized—I’ve still been looking to him to meet needs only God can fill.

He’s been doing the same with me.

It’s a dance we’ve done for years, and it always ends in frustration.

But this time, Reader… something shifted.

I didn’t force a breakthrough.

Clarity didn’t come from trying harder—it came from slowing down.

From letting myself rest, breathe, walk to the beach alone with Jesus.

From lighting a candle, journaling, and letting Him speak into those empty spaces I was trying to fill through someone else.

And that’s where the healing began.

Where have you felt stuck lately—emotionally, spiritually, or relationally?

Maybe God is gently inviting you to slow down too, Reader—

not to figure it all out,

but to finally let Him meet you in the places you’ve felt most alone.

That’s why I invited Christian leadership and mental health coach Eric Gilbert to the podcast this week.

Together, we talk about:

  • Why overwhelm doesn’t mean you’re broken
  • How trauma and stress affect your ability to trust God
  • Why Scripture must go deeper than your head to actually heal your heart
  • And how your brain can be renewed to walk in peace again

If you’ve been stuck in cycles of anxiety, trying to hold it all together, I believe this episode will speak to your soul, Reader.
